Service women and men from Naval and Air Force services ranks recently worked with Fair Haven Cub Pack 127 to prepare for Veterans Day activities in town.

The color guards from Naval Station Earle and Air Force Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst taught basic formations, explained commands, and drilled marching techniques with the girls and boys. The service members also discussed the importance of service to the community and country.

Members of the Navy Color Guard were Logistics Specialist 2nd Class Brigette Goodchild, Boatswain’s Mate 2nd Class Eric Robinson, Quartermaster 3rd Class Kahiem Walker, and Boatswain’s Mate 3rd Class Genie Rose Caballero.

Members of the Air Force Color Guard were Senior Airman Andrew Butler, Airman 1st Class Justin Auclair, Airman 1st Class Juan E Mamboyo and Airman 1st Class Jared Clower.

At the end of the event, each service member was presented a Scout Challenge Coin in recognition for the time taken to educate the scouts and for their service to our country.

A Challenge Coin is a custom medallion bearing the organization’s insignia or emblem and carried by the organization’s members, also commonly used in the military.
