Marilena Rebelo is retiring at the end of the school year. She has brightened the principal’s office for 19 years, making the school a wonderful experience for students and parents and solving problems in her position of Principal’s Secretary.

According to Marilena, she anticipates spending more quality time with her three grandsons, ages 1 1/2, 3 and 5 years old, and with her mom. She also plans to assist her daughter with her business as well. Said Marilena, “I’m looking forward to more walks on the beach, more snorkeling, more traveling, more of everything that makes us happy!”

The Rebelos love to travel. Vacation plans with her husband of 40 years, Manny, include returning to Italy this summer to the Almalfi Coast and Venice. They are already planning two trips for next year, one to Punta Cana and another to Hawaii. Manny has not yet retired, but perhaps in two years he’ll take the leap.

Reflecting on her experiences at the school, Marilena said, “Lincroft School has been my second home for 19 years, and in all that time I feel so fortunate to have worked with the most amazing students, the BEST principals and the finest staff in the world who became my second family. It is a blessing when you love your job and the wonderful people you work with.

“I feel so lucky to have been part of such a wonderful school,” she said. “I am truly happy and looking forward to this next adventure in my life, to spend more time just enjoying life, traveling and spending time with my amazing family. I would like to thank the Lincroft School previous and existing staff, the students, the parents and the PTA for all the love, support, thoughtfulness and kindness they have shown me through the years. I will always treasure the friendships and experiences we shared. They will forever be etched in my heart. I feel thankful to have had such an amazing journey and look forward to the future!”

Farewell Marilena, bon voyage, travel well.
