Liam McAtasney Found Guilty in Murder of Sarah Stern

Liam McAtasney Sarah Stern Guilty

A Monmouth County jury has found Liam McAtasney guilty in the 2016 murder of 19-year-old Sarah Stern.

McAtasney has been found guilty on all seven counts. Sentencing will be May 24 at 9 am.

Prosecutors say McAtasney killed Stern inside her home in Neptune City because he wanted to steal her inheritance money. McAtasney thought Stern had about $100,000 in cash, when in reality she had about $7,000.

McAtasney and his roommate, Preston Taylor, allegedly drove up to the Belmar Bridge, dumping her body off the side. The body was never found.
