On July 21 at approximately 6:29 pm, a male subject (see photos) was arrested for lewdness, stemming from an incident which occurred within Joe Palaia Park on July 18. During that incident, the male subject exposed himself to a female who was walking on a path in the park. At the time of his arrest, the person was identified as Sergio Lopez-Sanchez, of Asbury Park. Investigation revealed that he operates a white Ford work van.
Lopez-Sanchez was charged with Lewdness and Harassment. He was processed at police headquarters and released on a criminal summons pending a future court appearance.
The Ocean Township Police Department is asking that anyone who has additional information regarding this investigation or who has experienced any similar incidents involving the depicted subject to contact Detective Christopher Clune of the Ocean Township Police Department at 732-531-1800, ext. 2242.
The Ocean Township Police Department would also like to remind township residents to remain vigilant at all times and always be aware of your surroundings in order to identify suspicious behavior and prevent potential criminal activity.
