Kick Kids Making Theater Dreams Come True

Kick Dance Studios, in business for 17 years, has long been known for its great dancing and wonderful performances. Kick can now add acting and vocals to their credits, with seven of their students cast in performances both locally and nationally.

Brynn Howard and Chloe Crowell, longtime students of Kick Dance Studios, were performing in “This Is a Great Country” during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, televised live on NBC. Miss Howard was also selected as one of the 10 singers chosen to record the vocals that were heard live on television. “I liked the anticipation in the waiting room before recording and enjoyed wearing the headphones during the recording process,” Miss Howard stated.

Henry and Sadie Berry, a dynamic brother/sister team, were both cast in “A Christmas Story” at the Algonquin Arts Theater in Manasquan, NJ. Mr. Berry will be playing Grover Dill and Miss Berry will be featured ensemble. Mr. Berry will also be making his off-Broadway debut in “Dance Divas Nutcracker.” This brand new world premiere musical is being presented this holiday season in Times Square. The story follows a group of ambitious young dancers and the struggles they face as they pursue their dreams. When a famous ballet academy is looking for ballerinas to star in their annual holiday production of “The Nutcracker,” Anya, Liberty, and Scarlett each think they’ll be a shoe-in for the lead role of Clara. But it’s actually little Gracie, with her big smile and bubbly energy, that catches the director’s eye. The dancers learn that teamwork and friendship can get you through anything, with some holiday magic thrown in!

Kick dancers Carl Smith and Matt Black were both cast in “Seussical, The Musical” with Phoenix Productions and Sydney Rettino was cast as Tessie in “Annie” with the Seashore Players.

“We love being able to offer these wonderful opportunities, which help our dancers advance their skills and work toward their dreams. We are so proud of all of our Kick dancers and we look forward to their continued success,” stated Vanessa Berry, owner and director of Kick Dance Studios.

Kick Dance Studios, with locations in Rumson and Fair Haven, provides the area’s young dancers with the highest level of education. Kick’s instructors teach a wide variety of dance styles as well as classes in acrobatics, acting, and vocal lessons. It is the only studio in central New Jersey to receive the More Than Just Great Dancing accreditation. Kick Dance Studios also serves the community by using their love of dance to raise money for various charities. Over the past 10 years, they have raised more than $100,000 to help children and adults in the community.
