Keyport Stabbing Suspect Taken into Custody by Hazlet Police

Yesterday afternoon, July 6, Hazlet and Keyport police were searching for a man accused of aggravated assault at Stop & Shop in Keyport.

At 7:21 last night, police received a call that a subject matching the description was seen behind St. John’s Church.

Deputy Chief Robert Mulligan spotted him and took him into custody with the assistance of Sgt. Robert Dickens and Ptl. Megan Quinn.

“Numerous officers from multiple jurisdictions including Keyport, Union Beach, Middletown, Matawan, Monmouth County Sheriffs Office and the New Jersey State Police spent the last seven hours conducting an exhaustive search in the area between Shorelands Cemetery and Airport Plaza,” Hazlet police said.
