Keansburg Beachfront, a beloved beach spot for locals. Many a day have been spent with toes in the sand, while the sound of seasoned fishermen casting a line rings in the distance. After the restoration of the 2.5 miles of shoreline from SuperStorm Sandy, the Borough worked tirelessly to restore the shore while also creating a stable baywalk that could withstand any weather condition.

Keansburg Beachfront is one amongst five winners awarded for Best Restored Beaches in the nation by The American Shore and Beach Preservation Association.

James Cocuzza, Mayor of the Borough of Keansburg, “Keansburg Beach is a hidden gem of the Bayshore. After being destroyed by Superstorm Sandy we have come back tenfold.”

The American Shore and Beach Preservation Association is “dedicated to preserving, protecting and enhancing our coasts by merging science and public policy.” Judging for the Best Restored Beaches was based upon 3 criteria: “The economic and ecological benefits the beach brings to its community; The short- and long-term success of the restoration project; and The challenges each community overcame during the course of the project.”

According to Insider NJ, once the stay at home orders are lifted, the community is looking forward to hosting Friday Night beach concerts, movies on the beach, the food truck festival and other festivals and special events on the beachfront.

In the meantime, the Keansburg beach and baywalk are opened to the public to be enjoyed!
