Fair Haven Soldier Jamie Riley Dies in Crash

On Tuesday, Jan. 22, two soldiers from Texas’s Fort Bliss passed away after two military training vehicles crashed in New Mexico. One of the soldiers, Jamie Riley, was a Fair Haven resident.
Cpl. Cole Trevor Wixom, 24, and Pfc. Jamie R. Riley, 21, were killed in the accident. Wixom was from Bloomingdale, Michigan.
New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy called for flags to be lowered to half-staff on Feb. 4, the day of Riley’s funeral.
Seven other soldiers are being treated for injuries.
