The Holmdel FC Soccer Club presented four scholarships to HFC players who have excelled both on and off the field.

Abbey and Kailey Flynn played eight years of soccer in the club on a championship team. One of them anchored the defense, while the other was a constant threat on offense. They went on to play two years of varsity soccer for Holmdel High School. They are members of the National Honor Society, and achieved Honor Roll with distinction every year of high school. They volunteer extensively in the community, especially with the soccer club. They were certified referees, and volunteered at countless soccer camps, clinics and tryouts. Abbey will attend the University of Texas at Austin, and Kailey will attend the University of California, Davis.

Gabrielle Cipriano played eight years of soccer in the FC Club on a championship team. She volunteered extensively for both the FC club and for HYAA, including serving as a referee. She went on to a successful high school career – receiving her varsity letter all four years and serving as team captain her junior and senior years. She was a key contributor of the Holmdel High School 2014 New Jersey State Championship team. She is a member of the National Honor Society and achieved Honor Roll with distinction every year of high school. Her excellence and dedication not only on the field but in the classroom has led her to becoming a member of the Haverford College women’s soccer team.

Matt Lionette is the recipient of the Russell Drone scholarship. Matt played his entire youth career for Holmdel FC. He has been a key component to the Holmdel High School boys soccer team’s success over the past four years, crowned off with a New Jersey State Championship. He was named first team all-state, all shore and all division. He was not only a captain of the soccer team but also a captain on the Holmdel HS varsity lacrosse team. He continuously gave back to the FC soccer club and HYAA soccer over the years, serving as a referee and tryout volunteer.
