More than 100 Holiday Express volunteers sipped wine, sampled cheese, and socialized at the nonprofit group’s annual Volunteer Appreciation Night, held at the Holiday Express warehouse on April 30. In honor of National Volunteer Month, the event is a small thank you to the legion of volunteers who donate their time and talent to Holiday Express each season.
With 100 events this holiday season and a year-round effort of collecting items for gift bags and fundraisers, Holiday Express has always relied on volunteers to make every season a success.
“We have volunteers with a wide variety of skills that benefit Holiday Express. From singers and musicians to event planners, photographers, and face painters, the volunteers help with all aspects of the organization,” said Holiday Express Executive Director Lorrie Klaric.
Established by Tim McLoone in 1993, Holiday Express is a non-profit organization that delivers music, food, gifts, financial support and friendship to those with the greatest need for the gift of human kindness during the holiday season and throughout the year.
Holiday Express has more than more than 2,500 volunteers, including 150 professional rock, jazz, folk, gospel and pop musicians. Together they contributed an estimated 25,000 hours this past season. For more information, visit holidayexpress.org.
