HFEE Announces Date of Annual Fun Run

By Shanna O’Mara

The Holmdel Foundation for Educational Excellence recently announced it will hold the sixth annual 5K Walk/Run and Kids’ Fun Run on Saturday, June 18 at the Bell Works campus in Holmdel. This year’s race is sure to be another fun community event, with 100 percent of entries going toward a major annual project to enhance the educational experience of Holmdel students.

Participants are asked to arrive at the event by 8:45 am. The Kids’ One-Mile Run Fun, which is open to those age 11 and under, will start at 9 am, followed by the 5K Race at 9:45 am. Participation in the kids’ race costs $20, and the price of the 5K run is $35.

Awards will be presented to the top finishers in each age group. Each runner will be timed, and photographs will be taken during the event. Following the run/walk, there will be entertainment by a live DJ and refreshments.

Runners and walkers registered by Monday, May 30 will be guaranteed a race shirt. Runners can pick up their race packets on Friday, June 17 from 4 to 8 pm at Bell Works. For more information and to sign up, visit HFEE.org.

The Holmdel Foundation for Educational Excellence was founded in 1996 to raise private funds for Holmdel public schools. The foundation works to enhance the experience of students by fostering innovative programs in the areas of academics, athletics and the arts. In 2021, the HFEE donated two new science classrooms to Village Elementary School. The year before, the group raised funds for the Satz Innovation Room, a cutting-edge creative engineering space at WR Satz Middle School.
