Governor Advises Attendees of Bedminster Event to Quarantine Upon News of Positive Trump Result

Gov. Phil Murphy announced on his social media accounts this morning that he is advising anyone who attended President Donald Trump’s Thursday’s fundraising event in Bedminster to take precaution against the coronavirus. This comes after learning of Trump’s COVID-19 positive results.

Trump was present at the campaign event and has since left New Jersey.

“We urge everyone who attended yesterday’s event in Bedminster to take full precautions, including self-quarantining and getting tested for COVID-19”, Murphy said this morning.

The president had traveled to his Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster for a campaign fundraiser on Thursday, just hours before learning of his diagnosis. He tweeted late last night about his and First Lady Melania Trump’s positive test results. They were reportedly informed of a close member of his administration, Hope Hicks, also testing positive for the virus the day before.
