The Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore recognized 220 Girl Scouts who sold 500 or more boxes of Girl Scout Cookies this year during a special ceremony at iPlay America in Freehold on May 20.

In addition to selling Girl Scout Cookies to those who love the delicious treats, Girl Scouts also give customers the option to buy Girl Scout Cookies for donation to local food banks, the military and other worthy causes. On May 21, the Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore donated 11,543 points of Girl Scout Cookies to Fulfill, the former FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties.

The Girl Scout Cookie Program is the largest girl-led entrepreneurial program in the world; 100 percent of the net revenue stays local with the Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore in Monmouth and Ocean counties. This money helps power new experiences for girls that broaden their worlds; help them gain essential life skills and entrepreneurial expertise; and prepare them for a lifetime of leadership.
