Forrestdale Field Hockey Wins the Division and the American League

The Forrestdale field hockey team finished with a tremendous 12-1 record and captured Division and American League titles. The athletes fought hard in the championship game against Howell South but lost 2-0 in a hard-fought battle.

This team was led by Coach Peggy McKean and eighth graders Thea Azaceta and Gwyneth Shockley.

“I’m really proud of this season this year,” Azaceta said. “Even though we lost the championship, we went further than last year and accomplished so much!”

The coach said the team’s camaraderie on and off the field was tangible.

“I am so proud of the girls,” McKean said. “We had fun, many laughs, cookies and Bundt cakes. They scored many goals and only gave up one goal in 10 games. Next season is looking just as promising since we have many returning players. Forrestdale School is so proud of the Forrestdale field hockey team! The school always appreciates the support of the parents and school that came out to cheer on the team.”
