Forestdale School Welcomes Therapy Dogs

Forestdale School’s chapter of the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) welcomed Jo-Ann Moyer, the Humane Education specialist for the Monmouth County SPCA, on Dec. 12. She presented the NJHS students with information about the different services provided by the animal shelter for both domesticated and wild animals. She gave the students a background on the difference between working animals, service animals and therapy animals. To the delight of the students, they met four therapy dogs with their partner humans, and the students were able to interact with the animals and learn about their backgrounds and service. 

This interactive experience was a wonderful way to end the NJHS fall/winter service project to benefit the Monmouth County SPCA. The students and community gathered in immense amount of linens and materials for donation to the Monmouth County SPCA. A special thank you goes out to all who donated.
