Food Drive Organized by Middletown High School Students Continues Today South High School

With the recent cancellation of the Middletown high school rival Thanksgiving game, a tradition of the town, Middletown players, cheerleaders and students have decided to take action in a beneficial way for the community.

The food drive continues today at Middletown High School South located at the entrance of 900 Nut Swamp Rd. from 2 to 6 pm, collecting children’s toys, canned items and other non-perishable foods.

Adam Ibraimovic, captain of the Middletown North football team, and his peers decided to set up a food drive to help the community in these rough times. All donations are going local and state food banks which are designed to give out meals to the community in ways that are unimaginable.

The food drives are managed by Ibraimovic and a group of players and cheerleaders committed to making changes for Middletown and New Jersey.

He said, “Since we know we can’t provide joy to the thousands of fans who come out each year and support us on the football field, we decided to do something a little different this year. We are in partnership with Middletown Helps Its Own, a local church in the area who runs their own food bank.”
