Deep Cut Orchid Society to Put on Show and Sale

With just days before Valentine’s Day, the Deep Cut Orchid Society will hold its annual orchid show and sale on Thursday, Feb. 6 through Sunday, Feb. 9 in Dearborn Market’s greenhouse located at 2170 Highway 35 South in Holmdel. The orchid show will be open 9 am to 6 pm Thursday through Saturday and 9 am to 4:30 pm Sunday.

Escape from winter and immerse yourself into the tropical world of orchids. Visitors will be greeted by an array of beautiful orchids with displays vying for American Orchid Society ribbons and trophies. Come and marvel at the unparalleled beauty, complexity and diversity of the world’s largest family of flowering plants. The orchid extravaganza will feature spectacular exhibits showcasing beautiful, sometime bizarre, often fragrant and always interesting orchids in full bloom.

Free guided tours and educational and orchid-themed workshops will be held for enthusiasts of all levels. Orchid experts will be on hand every day during the show to answer all of your orchid questions.

Raffles will be conducted throughout the day. Admission and parking are free. Dearborn Market will offer fresh food and deli selections for purchase.

Established more than 30 years ago, the Deep Cut Orchid Society is a nonprofit organization and one of the largest orchid clubs in the tristate area dedicated to the education and culture of orchids. Deep Cut Orchid Society meets on the second Tuesday of every month at the Monmouth Reform Temple, 332 Hance Ave. in Tinton Falls at 7:30 pm. An orchid expert gives a presentation, members bring in their special blooms, and experienced orchid growers are available to provide advice and answer culture questions.
