COVID-19 Cluster Linked to Middletown Sports Complex, Recent Visitors Advised to Get Tested

The Middletown Township Department of Health and Social Services announced today that they are collaboratively investigating a cluster of approximately 13 COVID-19 cases with a common connection to the Middletown Sports Complex/Ice World facility.

The investigation has revealed that the earliest onset of symptoms was Sept. 3.

The facility’s management has been working with the health department to identify anyone who may have been in the facility since that time as they are advised to get tested.

Middletown Sports Complex management has met with the health director and is taking steps to ensure the safety of residents and visitors. Though not yet confirmed, the facility may close for up to two weeks to allow for a deep cleaning of the building.

Staff has also been working with health officials to trace back anyone who may be at risk and notify them of the situation.

Anyone who has questions or concerns is asked to contact the health department at 732-615-2000, ext. 2165 or email questions to covid19@middletownnj.org.
