The Shore District of the New Jersey State Federation of Women’s Clubs of GFWC held its Spring Conference and Achievement Day recently at the Lobster Shanty in Point Pleasant. The Colts Neck Woman’s Club was the recipient of three gold medals.
Patty Eastman won a gold medal in Environmental Endeavors under advanced flowering houseplants. Diana Hnat won the gold in Arts and Culture in the sewing category, making a purse. Hnat also made 15 more of the purses and donated them to the Collier Group Home. Rorie Coppola won gold medal in Photography Depicting Volunteers in Action which illustrated the work the club does for 180 Turning Lives Around.
Ien Yeo won third place in advanced pillow making, and Eastman won third place in advanced succulents.
It was a beautiful day shared with 18 chapters of Women’s Clubs in the Shore Area. The gold medal winners go on to Atlantic City to compete with other state winners.
