Book Discussion:

The Chilbury Ladies’ Choir by Jennifer Ryan, Tuesday, February 6 at 10:30 a.m., and Thursday, February 8 at 7:00 p.m.. As England becomes enmeshed in the early days of World War II and the men are away fighting, the women of Chilbury village forge an uncommon bond. They defy the Vicar’s stuffy edict to close the choir and instead “carry on singing,” resurrecting themselves as the Chilbury Ladies’ Choir. We come to know the home-front struggles of five unforgettable choir members: a timid widow devastated when her only son goes to fight; the older daughter of a local scion drawn to a mysterious artist; her younger sister pining over an impossible crush; a Jewish refugee from Czechoslovakia hiding a family secret; and a conniving midwife plotting to outrun her seedy past. This book discussion will be moderated by Colts Neck Librarian Stephanie Laurino. Refreshments will be served and all are welcome to attend, however, registration is preferred.  Stop by or call the library to reserve your copy of the book today.

Ask a Memory Care Specialist!

Tuesday, February 13 at 11:00 a.m.

Please join us for a special event, Ask a Memory Care Specialist, presented by Millennium Memory Care Director Galina Markovich. This program helps seniors and caregivers better understand memory issues and learn about community resources. Ms. Markovich uses a specialized “Memory Screening” system to determine the levels of memory loss and other potential problems. Attendees are free to participate in the screening process or simply ask questions to learn more about this important topic.

Galina Markovich, ANP, RN, is a passionate expert in the field of memory care and an innovator in Alzheimer’s and Dementia support and education. She is the Director of Millennium Memory Care, NJ’s fastest-growing group of memory care homes.
