CILU to Host Zoom Talk About Plastic Pollution

Citizens for Informed Land Use (CILU) will host an informative Zoom talk about New Jersey’s Plastic Pollution Reduction Act on Monday, Feb. 15 at 7:30 pm. This timely topic will be presented by Nandini Checko, project director at the Association of NJ Environmental Commissions (ANJEC).

Checko, who leads the plastic pollution reduction program at ANJEC, will explain components of the nation’s strictest single-use plastics law which was signed by Gov. Phil Murphy in November. Starting in May 2022, this law will ban single-use plastic and paper bags, polystyrene foam food containers, and allow plastic straws upon request only.

This virtual event is free and open to the public. To register, email .

She holds an MA degree in Organizational Development from Columbia University and a BS degree from the School of Business at Rutgers University.
