CILU Hosts ‘The Flourishing Path’ Virtual Lecture

Citizens for Informed Land Use (CILU) is excited to host a virtual presentation by John D. Liu titled “The Flourishing Path.” It will take place on Monday, Feb. 21 at 7:30 pm via Zoom. Liu will describe how functional ecosystems are biodiverse and fertile due to the natural regulation of the water cycle, the weather and the climate, yet our economy seems to lead us down the road of ecological destruction. He will explain how we can refigure the ecological, economic and social world to enable us to get on the flourishing path to a future in which we can all thrive.

Liu is a former television producer and cameraman for CBS News. He founded the Environmental Education Media Project and helped to create the China Environment and Sustainable Development Reference and Research Center. He is currently ecosystem ambassador for the Commonland Foundation and visiting research fellow at the Netherlands Institute of Ecology of the Royal Academy of Arts and Sciences. This presentation is part of the work he presented to the United Nations in January 2022.

CILU is a nonprofit, non-partisan 501(c)4 membership organization founded in 1998 to protect our open space and natural resources. It also promotes government transparency which requires an informed citizenry. You can learn more about CILU at Holmdel-cilu.org or on Facebook.
