Brookdale Cuts Ribbon on 37,000 Square-Foot Wall Township Facility

A ribbon-cutting ceremony for Brookdale Community College’s new 37,000-square-foot classroom building in Wall Township was held on the afternoon of Tuesday, September 12. The event featured addresses by college officials, dignitaries, and a current Brookdale nursing student, and tours of the building were offered afterwards. The Brookdale Board of Trustees’ September public meeting was held that same evening in the new building.

Attendees included the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders, Monmouth County Administrator Teri O’Connor, New Jersey City University (NJCU) President Sue Henderson, Vice President of Administration and Finance Dr. Aaron Aska, Program Coordinator Dr. Joyce Wright, Wall Township Mayor Nick DiRocco, Deputy Mayor Timothy Farrell, Committeewoman Ann Marie Conte, members of the Brookdale Board of Trustees and the Brookdale Foundation, interim Brookdale President David Stout, and Brookdale nursing student Tara Tennaro.

Brookdale at Wall is located at 800 Monmouth Boulevard, Wall. The two-story building features 14 classrooms, a state-of-the-art nursing suite, two science labs, and a Student Success Center with 20 computer stations, expanded testing space, and four group study rooms with computers and large-screen TVs. The facility also boasts three student lounges, upgraded interactive technology, expanded space for community events, safety and security upgrades, and additional parking.

Brookdale at Wall is currently being considered for Branch Campus status, which would allow for expanded degree programs and a full continuum of education at the site, from high school through a bachelor’s degree. It will also serve as home for local early-college high school programs, plus courses for K-12 teachers and local businesses.
