Gov. Phil Murphy has just announced that municipal and private club swimming pools can reopen Monday, June 22.

The New Jersey Department of Health will be providing full guidance tomorrow relating to procedures and protocols.

Many Monmouth County swim clubs and their members have been dreaming of days spent poolside. As some swim clubs have already decided that they will not reopen for the 2020 season, many others have said they will do all they can to provide a fun-filled summer for their members.

Hazlet Swim and Tennis Club in Monmouth County had just announced last week that it would not be opening for the summer.ย  It was not clear if this new order will change those plans.

The governor will be holding his daily press conference today at 2:30 pm. The Journal will provide updates and details once they become available.

As of today, the Monmouth County Freeholders have announced that there are 36 new positive cases of COVID-19 in Monmouth County, bringing the total to 8,599 reported cases since the start of the pandemic.
