Bell Works Update

By Lori Draz

The biggest recent news at Bell Works in Holmdel was the Zucker Family Foundation Gala being held on Thursday, March 30, just after the time of this writing. Next month, we will share pictures from this extravagant gala that will raise funds for the Holmdel Library and Learning Center, which will be located in the Bell Works Campus. The lavish affair was themed, “Alice in Wonderland-Through the Looking Glass,” and was expected to be one of the most impressive events of the year. As of press time, more than 300 people had already bought their $1,000-a-piece tickets and were preparing to enjoy a magical evening of whimsical decorations, entertainment, a lovely sit-down dinner, elaborate gift bags, and a spectacular selection of auction items.

Holmdel Mayor Greg Buontempo was thrilled by the success of this event, saying, “So much work has gone into this. There are so many logistics hosting such a grand affair, but Mr. Zucker and his amazing team make it look easy. The support for this event is humbling and we are so happy that its success will play such a huge role in making our new library a reality. Mr. Zucker’s generosity and professionalism knows no end. He is a true friend to Holmdel. Somerset Development has already given us a check for one million dollars toward the library, and being designated as the benefactor of this year’s gala will take us to a whole new level. I can hardly wait for the big night and I am sure that anyone who attends will be amazed at this over-the-top evening.”

Construction on the nearly 20,000-square-foot library is expected to begin shortly after the gala, around the end of April, the mayor added. He also spoke about the flurry of activity that is going on daily at the campus. “It seems like there is something happening every day. There are hiring open houses and job fairs, commercial shoots, meetings, and so much more. Bell Works is quickly becoming a very lively place and is attracting many inquiries from companies that see the benefits of operating a business in this active community.”

One of the other really impressive and cool developments was Bell Works’ recent appearance in a Cadillac commercial. The commercial was filmed indoors at Bell Works and was aired during this year’s Academy Awards. If you would like to see it, visit www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qfs1w-mcvns&sns=em.

And there was more good news for Bell Works tenant Vydia, which was named one of the 13 fastest growing startups at South by Southwest this year. This event is often referred to as SXSW. It started off as a popular music festival and has grown into one of the biggest annual technology gatherings.
