The Bayshore Youth Athletic Association (BYAA) Gator Wrestling program has completed its 2022-23 season.
BYAA is a nonprofit youth wrestling organization that operates at Croydon Hall and is available to Middletown and some surrounding towns for kindergarten to eight-grade level youngsters.
The BYAA provides introductory training to beginning wrestlers. The program is also highly competitive in the Jersey Shore Junior Wrestling League, with teams competing with other Monmouth and Ocean County squads.
Over the years, BYAA Gator wrestling has helped mold many extremely successful Middletown wrestlers. Middletown North’s Tyler Klinsky (NJSIAA State Champion and four-time Region champion) and Middletown South’s Jack Zaleski (four-time NJSIAA State Medalist and three-time Region champion) came through the program.
