On Friday, Aug. 12 at 9:47 pm, a Holmdel resident on Falcons Ridge Circle reported a person attempting to gain entry to a vehicle in their driveway, after exiting a white SUV that pulled in front of the residence.
The subject was unable to gain entry to the locked vehicle and appeared to be scared off by a motion-activated light on the residence.
Patrols responded to the area and located a white BMW SUV, which was reported stolen from northern New Jersey and recently involved in a theft in Rumson, exiting a nearby development.
Patrols attempted to stop the vehicle, which fled at a high rate of speed onto the Garden State Parkway.
Police remind residents to continue to lock their vehicles and homes and to promptly report all suspicious persons and vehicles to their local police department.
