Police Chase Suspect after Attempted Car Break-Ins Reported

Holmdel Township Police Department reportedly initiated a motor vehicle pursuit at approximately 2 am last night after investigating an attempted vehicle break-in.

Officers were on the lookout for several individuals attempting to enter unlocked parked vehicles. A white sportscar was spotted in the area of one of the attempts.

Two patrolmen of the Holmdel Police located the vehicle near Cross Run Road, near Huntley Road in Holmdel. When approached, the white sportscar fled and drove onto the Garden State Parkway going north. The officers chased the car north up to the parkway toward the Driscoll Bridge, where the pursuit was ultimately terminated.

The vehicle involved in the pursuit had been previously reported stolen from Spring Lake.

According to sources, a similar white sportscar was seen on a Middletown resident’s Ring Alert in the area of Middletown Lincroft Road and Sunnyside Road at 1:45 am. An individual can be seen exiting the car and approaching the driveway.

These attempts come days after 5 cars were broken into at Dorbrook Park in Colts Neck.

The Holmdel Police Department would like to remind everyone to lock your vehicles and remove your keys and key fobs from your vehicles at night.
