Attempted Burglary and Car Thefts Reported in Middletown and Holmdel

On Wednesday, Aug. 10 at 5:13 am, Holmdel Police responded to the area of Everett and Stillwell Roads to assist Middletown Police Department officers who were investigating an attempted burglary in the area. While searching the area, Holmdel officers were passed by a white BMW operating at 115 miles per hour.

The officers attempted to locate the vehicle, but due to the high rate of speed, were unable to locate it. While searching the area, they were notified that there were several attempted car burglaries and one attempted home burglary in the Blue Hills/Bordeaux area.

Security footage in that area showed that subjects attempted to steal a vehicle but were unsuccessful due to the resident locking their vehicle. The subjects then attempted to enter a nearby residence but were unsuccessful due to the home being locked.

Detective Andrew Kret of the Holmdel Police Department responded to the scene and processed the vehicle and residence. If anyone has any surveillance footage showing either the suspects or vehicle they were operating, they are asked to contact Det. Kret at 732-946-9690, ext. 1713.

As always, the Holmdel Police urge all residents to immediately report any suspicious activity as well as ensure they lock their cars, take the keys inside, and lock all the doors leading into the home including the garage.
