Annual Northern Monmouth County AAUW Half-Price, Used Book Sale

Readers, listen up – the perfect-for-winter reading event is about to happen. The Northern Monmouth County Branch of American Association of University Women (AAUW) will hold its yearly half-price used book sale at the Old First Church, 69 Kings Highway in Middletown on Saturday, Jan. 25. The sale will be take place during their regular Saturday hours from 9 am to 2 pm. Hardcovers, usually selling for $3, will be priced at $1.50, and paperbacks, usually $2 each, will be priced at $1. There will be many titles to choose from in all categories like fiction, mystery, sci-fi, biography, American and world history, humor, true adventure and especially children’s books.

Proceeds from the AAUW Used Book Sale provide university and college scholarships for women and girls, and support local projects that promote education for middle school girls in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. They also provide leadership training for high school girls and offer workshop training in salary negotiations for college students and women returning to the work force.

The Northern Monmouth County Branch of AAUW has been making a difference in the community for more than 90 years and welcomes new members to join in advancing equity for women and girls. Membership in AAUW is open to any graduate holding an associate or equivalent, baccalaureate, or higher degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
