Annual Bayshore Greek Fest Returns

Kimisis Tis Theotokou Greek Orthodox Church

OPA! Kimisis Tis Theotokou Greek Orthodox Church is proud to host their 42nd Annual Bayshore Greek Fest, returning to the church grounds at 20 Hillcrest Road in Holmdel. The Bayshore Greek Fest runs Thursday, June 7 through Sunday, June 10 – rain or shine.

Enjoy performances by traditionally dressed youth dancers of various ages, guided church tours, cooking demonstrations and an assortment of games and rides. Back by popular demand is live entertainment by “Neo Kyma” Greek Band featuring Holmdel’s Chris Haliyannis, and Pegasus DJ on Friday and Saturday.

Shop an eclectic group of vendors with specialty jewelry including the popular Evil Eye items, clothing, icons, artwork and Greek delights. Their world-class Taverna is back and ready to tingle your taste buds with ethic homemade dishes such as Moussaka, stuffed peppers, spanakopita (Spinach pie), and loukaniko (smoked Greek sausage). The Taverna will also be serving succulent lamb shanks and the popular delectable flaky white fish platter.

Not to be missed will be a sensational Zeibekiko dance-off, knockerball and a medley of Greek-inspired cocktails, like our Ouzotini. Partake in a collection of traditional Greek pastries such as Baklava, Diples, and Galaktobouriko and unique to the Bayshore Greek Fest, Ouzo Cake and Baklava Sundaes, all while enjoying a delicately frothed “Frappe”.

Loukoumades  or honey puffs, the dish history reports was served to the victorious ancient Olympic athletes will also be available Thursday through Sunday. Sample some at the Festival and keep the Greek “Kefi” (spirit) alive by taking a sampling home to share with family and friends.
