26-Year-Old Motorcyclist Hospitalized After Accident in Brick Township

On Sept. 10 at 3:13 pm, the Brick Township Police Department responded in the area of Beaverson Boulevard at the intersection Old Toms River Road for a report of a motor vehicle crash with a motorcycle, according to Brick Township police.

Preliminary investigation indicates that vehicle 01, a Harley Davidson driven by Lukas August, 26, of Brick, was traveling west in the right lane of Beaverson Boulevard approaching the intersection of Old Toms River Road. Vehicle 02, a GMC Terrain driven by Lucy Marie Cramer-Haplin, 70, of Lakewood, was traveling east on Beaverson Boulevard in the left turn lane at the intersection of Old Toms River Road. Vehicle 02 attempted to make a left turn onto Old Toms River Road when vehicle 01 struck vehicle 02 in the right front wheel area. 

The impact ejected August off his motorcycle. 

The Brick Township Police Department’s Patrol Units and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene.

August was transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center where he was treated for his injuries.  

The Brick Township Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit responded to the scene to investigate the crash. Vehicular traffic on Beaverson Boulevard westbound was reduced to one lane of travel for approximately two hours during the investigation. An ongoing investigation is being conducted by Brick Township Police Department Traffic Safety Unit.

This accident is under investigation by Daniel Fogarty of the Brick Township Traffic Safety Unit.
