$10K Grants Offered to Monmouth County Small Businesses Affected by COVID

Due to the immense financial burden caused by the coronavirus, Monmouth County small businesses and nonprofit organizations are able to receive a grant for up to $10,000. These funds are meant to relieve financial stresses, while encouraging businesses to continue operating.

These grants, which are for Monmouth County small businesses with as many as 50 employees, are using $10 million in federal money under the Coronavirus Aid Relief and Economic Security, better known as CARES act.

“While some other counties have chosen to utilize the New Jersey Economic Development Authority, Monmouth County will be administering these grants directly because no one knows our small businesses like we do,” stated Freeholder Director Thomas A. Arnone.

The $10 million in grant funds is meant to supplement the $1.59 million in CARES act money initially funded to Monmouth County. Arnone said he realized the $1.59 million would not be enough for small businesses in the county due to restrictions set by the federal government.

Arnone stated, “I have been in constant contact with small business owners and Chambers of Commerce throughout this pandemic and will continue to work with them to assist in any way I can.”
